本連續課程挑選《My first reading library》裡面的繪本進行親子簡讀:原文讀一遍，描述圖片讀一遍，強調重點詞。
上節課看了《The three wishes》，這節課看一下同樣帶魔法的《The magic melon》.
第一遍：照原文朗讀，不要做更改，也不要拓展。
第二遍：描述圖片，讓孩子更好的理解語境。
可以進行如下對話：每段內容對應一整頁。

封面：This is a man.He is holding a melon.
正文：
The story is about a lazy man,a kind old man and magic melons.
Look! People are working in the fields.But Lee doesn't like working.He likes sleeping because he is lazy.
People asks Lee to come to help.But Lee refuses to extend any aid.He always lies down on the ground and rests.
When food is ready,Lee wants to eat.But people refuses to give any food to him.Lee doesn't do any job,so he deserves no food to eat.As a result,he is very hungry.
An old man walks by with a melon in his hand.The old man tells Lee that the melon is magic.
Lee sits on the stone and wants some fried rice to eat.The old man taps the magic melon for three times.A bowl of fried rice appears out of nowhere.It is amazing.
Lee eats the fried ice.It is delicious.Then he wants to have a magic melon.The old man agrees with Lee.But he doesn't give his melon to Lee.Instead,the old man asks Lee to grow one.
How?Lee feels puzzled.The old man gives a seed to Lee.He asks Lee to plant the seed .The seed should be watered three times a day.It is a magic seed,and it should be taken good care of.Lee acknowledges this. Then the old man leaves.
It is easy to plant a seed.Lee works very hard to take care of the magic seed.But soon,he is sick of doing this job.He feels tired and he doesn't want to work any more.He goes back to sleep.
Day after day,Lee sleeps.The melon grows all by itself.Nobody takes care of the melon any more.But the melon grows biger and bigger.When the melon is big enough.Lee picks it.
Lee taps the melon and wishes for fried rice.But there is no fried rice at all.Instead,a lump of dry bread appears out of nowhere.Lee bites it,but it is too hard to eat.
The old man appears.He laughs at Lee. Lee doesn't take care of the melon,so the melon won't take care of Lee either.
親子互動英語：春節將近，咱和寶寶一起做冰燈。用透明的塑膠杯子（或者紙杯），裝水凍起來就可以了，但不能太滿，因為要留點空隙放燈泡。

Put the light on.
The ice shines.

There is solid ice in it.
Let's put it upside down.
Then put the light at the bottom.
