    五一勞動節的正確說法是May Day, 看到有回答說是Labor Day,這個說法不準確的,這是美國勞動節或者勞工節,時間是九月的第一個星期一。

    如果將五一勞動節翻譯成 International Labor Day當然也是可以的,但是說它是國際勞動節又不夠嚴謹,因為很多國家並沒有把五一定為勞動節,比如說美國、加拿大。所以我覺得用May Day最恰當!跟哪個國家的人說都不會造成歧義!

    五一勞動節英文:Labour day,你知道五一勞動節的由來麼?為什麼全世界勞動人民都在這一天慶祝自己的節日呢?  51 international Labors’ Day is on May 1 every year. It is the whole world’s common festival of the labour .As for the causes of the 51 are as follows:   五一國際勞動節在每年的5月1日。它是全世界勞動人民的共同節日。關於五一的由來是這樣的:   This festival comes from the worker"s big strike of American Chicago. On May 1 in 1886, 200,000 workers of Chicago struck for practicing eight hours’ work time. After many uphill bloody battles, they finally won .For memorizing this labour movement, In July 14 1889, Marxists from all countries called a meeting in France. On the conference ,delegates all agreed that : May 1 was settled for the international proletariat’s Commonfestival. This resolution got the workers from all around the world responded to it actively. On May 1 in 1890, the working class of Euro-American countries took the lead to go into the street, holding a grand demonstration and a meeting, fighting for the legal rights .From now on, May 1 has been an international festival for labour workers to celebrate.   此節源於美國芝加哥的工人大罷工。1886年5月1日,芝加哥的20 多萬工人為爭取實行八小時工作制而舉行大罷工,經過艱苦的流血鬥爭,終於獲得了勝利。為紀念這次工人運動,1889年7月14日,由各國馬克思主義者召集的大會在巴黎開幕。大會上,與會代表一致同意:把5月1日定為國際無產階級的共同節日。這一決議得到世界各國工人的積極響應。1890年5月1日,歐美各國的工人階級率先走上街頭,舉行盛大的示威遊行與集會,爭取合法權益。從此,51成為了一個勞動人民慶祝的國際節日。The Chinese people’s celebrating the activity of the Labor Day can trace back to 1918.In this year, some intellectuals of revolution in Shanghai, Suzhou etc. sent handbills to introduce"51"to people.
