The rumor that "female astronauts are forbidden to have children after returning to earth" has been heard all the time. In fact, it is not. Since the beginning of manned aviation, there has never been a similar regulation, and there has never been a similar fertility problem. We can start from the beginning,
Tereshkova
Tereshkova is the first female astronaut to enter space in human history. She was born on March 6, 1936. On June 16, 1963, when she was 27 years old, she took the dongfang-6 spaceship to take off. She drove the spacecraft around the earth for 48 times, totaling 70 hours and 50 minutes. She became the only woman to fly an independent spacecraft in space.
So the question is, did Tereshkova give birth before she was called a female astronaut? Actually, No.
Did she give birth after completing the space mission? Yes, she got married after completing the mission. Her husband is also an astronaut. They have a daughter. Their daughter is not a problem. On the contrary, she is very healthy and intelligent. She is a beautiful girl with excellent moral and academic qualities. Later, she became a doctor. So, in fact, this was not the case with the first female astronaut, Tereshkova.
Moreover, this situation is not an isolated case, but a very common phenomenon. The early Soviet female astronauts basically completed their space missions when they were young, and then married and had children.
Liu Yang
Liu Yang is the first female astronaut to enter space in our country. She married Zhang Hua, her air force comrade in arms in 2004. However, before Liu Yang"s space mission, they had no children. On June 16, 2012, Liu Yang took the shenzhou-9 spacecraft to carry out the space mission.
Two years later, in 2014, Liu Yang revealed that he was promoted to his mother. In other words, our country"s first female astronaut has not been banned from childbearing.
Will female astronauts be banned from childbearing?
From Tereshkova, the first female astronaut, to Liu Yang, China"s first female astronaut, a total of 56 female astronauts from all over the world completed space missions in spacecraft, including 46 in the United States, 3 in the former Soviet Union and Russia, 2 in Canada, 2 in Japan, and 1 in Britain, South Korea and France. Among such female astronauts, a considerable number of female astronauts give birth only after completing space missions. Therefore, in the process of screening female astronauts, married and child-bearing is not an indicator, not from the beginning, nor has it been.
Of course, in fact, the criteria for selecting cosmonauts are very strict. In addition to various physical fitness requirements, the requirements for academic qualifications are also very strict. The early screening of professional astronauts in the United States requires:
Have at least a full-time undergraduate degree from a regular university, and the higher the degree, the better. (Engineering, physics and mathematics are the best) have at least 1000 hours of jet flight experience, and preferably have basic flight test experience. "All kinds of physical conditions should meet the requirements. (there is no requirement on whether to have children or not). However, China"s requirements for astronauts are almost harsh. At present, in our country, all of the pilots who become astronauts are at or above the national level, and they are basically school level officers. Liu Yang was a major at that time. This means that when they choose to become astronauts, they have to live a comfortable life. However, they have to accept some extreme challenges and devil training, such as centrifuge training, which is hard for ordinary people to bear. Therefore, it is reasonable for Chinese astronauts to be called space heroes.
No matter at home or abroad, no country has any requirements on female astronauts in terms of "fertility". Therefore, it is a true rumor that "female astronauts are forbidden to bear children after returning to earth".
