通常我都喜歡吐槽朋友長胖了，因為自己是個大瘦子，怎麼吃都不胖，但是慎用啊，僅限死黨之間使用！

1.gain weight

gain 意思就是增加、長了。後面可以直接跟具體的重量。

例：我夏天的時候長胖了很多因為我就在家待著什麼也不幹。

I gained a lot of weight during the summer because I just sat around the house.

2.I put on some weight.我長胖了

例：I think I am putting on a little weight. I had better go on a diet.

我覺得自己最近重了些，最好去減肥了。

3.I got fat. 我長胖了

“變胖”倆字最對應的英文恐怕就是它了。

例：I can"t believe I"ve let myself get so fat.

真不敢相信我竟讓自己長這麼胖了。

4.Fill out

這個短語不僅有填寫表格的意思，還有“變胖”、“變豐滿”的意思，不過通常是指由於成長引起的身材變化。

例：It was easier to find clothes that fit him once he began to fill out.

在他長胖前，還是很好找到合適的衣服的。

5.stout 結實的，壯實的

例：She is getting too stout.她長得太結實了。

6.big-boned骨骼粗大的

例：I am a large, big-boned woman with rough, man - working hands.我是一個大塊頭、大骨架的婦女，有著幹男人活兒的粗糙雙手。

7. chubby胖乎乎的

例：I"ve got a chubby body, a long, narrow face.我有一個圓胖的身子，一個又長又窄的臉。

出現一個長肥的描述了

長肥：get fat

可能是時代進步了，不再缺衣少食，長胖反而是一件不那麼“光彩”的事兒

精英們都開始刻意“變黑”(沙灘浴)“有意”變瘦（減肥）了，我的用詞是不是也該改改了

所以“fat”到後，就越用越謹慎

為了不刺激別人的神經和耳朵

長胖換種方式可以說

put on weight

體重增加

overweight

超重

如果再想形容有點肉感，不妨參考如下

curvy(豐滿飽滿性感人士專用）

chubby(微胖人士專用）

tubby(壯壯男森專用）

big-boned(“華妃”專用—形容骨架大，膀大....)

flabby(巨肥人士減肥後專用，鬆垮，贅肉）

1口語化表達 get fat

I got fat. I am getting fat.

2書面語表達 put on weight 或者 gain weight 前者多一些

I am putting on weight cuz I ate so much. I need to lose weight

另外 胖fat 瘦fit 你沒發現字母a 比i 要胖嗎？

You are fat. I am fit.

區別 fit 是美觀的瘦 thin 是病態的瘦

用完成式比較地道一點：have/has gained some weight.

或者have/has put on a few pounds

或者have/has gotten bigger。

不要用fat這個詞。

這兩種表達比較禮貌一點，也是最常用的口語表達來說長胖了。中文裡面我們說“他長胖了”不是說他從一個瘦子變成個大胖子，是說他長了點肉，比以前胖了一些。特別特別要注意的是英語裡面千萬別輕易用fat這個詞，非常的不禮貌，說自己當然可以，但是說別人就太不合適了。第一別人覺得你沒禮貌沒教養，第二你說的人聽了會很自卑，很傷心。中文胖可以用chubby來說，而fat就要翻譯成“肥”，很不禮貌的。

總而言之，說“他長胖了”要翻譯成

“he has gained some weight"

或者“he has put on a few pounds”

或者“he has gotten bigger”。
