這個版本的前半句一樣，後面多的這半句大意是“因此，天才不過是一個經常能完成自己工作的聰明人而已”。也沒有說“靈感更重要”。
在英文網路裡，我無法找到“Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration”後面那一句。
綜合上面這些資料，我認為，愛迪生三番五次的強調自己“一次次地做實驗”，不太可能會說“但那1％的靈感是最重要的，甚至比那99％的汗水都要重要”這句話。
