創作背景：

《Singin" in the Rain》，它不但是音樂歌舞電影的傑作，也是一部介紹好萊塢影壇從默片時代轉變為有聲片時代的許多片廠趣聞的佳作。20年代末期好萊塢開始了有聲電影，很多無聲電影明星遭遇到聲音考驗，也產生了淘汰與幕後的掩飾工作。本片故事背景就放在這個年代，對好萊塢這種工作場所造成的弊病提出批評及抗議。主角是性感的珍·哈根、有才氣卻只能在幕後配音的黛比·雷諾斯以及由吉恩·凱利飾演的投機的功利主義者。
