The father and his son are staying at home. The son is singing a song.
“You must stop.” Says the father. “Your dad is going to read his book. Dad can’t listen to a song while he is reading his book.”
“Why not?” asks the son.
“Because dad can think about just one thing at a time.”
The son stops singing. He sits quietly. The father lights a cigar and goes on reading.
After a while, the son asks, “Dad, can you still think about only one thing at a time?”
“Yes, my son. You are right.”
“Well then, you should stop reading your book and think about the slipper that is on your right foot.” Says the son.
