TYPE

n.一般表示嚴格意義上的種類，涉及到classification的這種，較為正式，用法較為侷限，就表示“類別”。

e.g. I do not like this type of butter, it is way too bitter for me.

我不喜歡這類黃油，對我來說太苦了。

v.表示“打字”，這類用法其他兩個詞語沒有，也較為簡單。

e.g. I have been typing all night long, almost having worn me down.

我已經敲了一晚上鍵盤了，快把我累死了。

SORT

n.表示種類也是涉及到classification的，表示“類別”。更強調某一種特性，更加隨意。而且其後跟的名詞不一定需要強調屬於更大的集合。

e.g. This sort of thing is really frustrating.

這種事太令人沮喪了！

e.g. What sort of person are you?

你是什麼人啊?

KIND

n.也表示種類，和sort的含義非常接近，如果一定要說出用法上的區別，sort有時可以更加口語化，比如上面sort的第二個例句。kind後面跟的名詞也不必強調一定屬於更大的集合。

e.g. There are different kinds of castles in Disneyland, which is extremely fantastic.

迪士尼樂園有很多不同種類的城堡，棒極了。

adj.常見地還可以表示“友好”。

e.g. It was really kind of you to help me out at the meeting yesterday, otherwise it would"ve been very awkward.

SUMMARY

對於上面“屬於更大的集合”，在這裡作解釋，在用type的時候，往往隱含著這是一個大群組的一小部分，而且這一小部分是因為某些特性被人為分開的。比如：

This type of feul is very economic, but may does lots of unpredictable harm to the environment, compared with the other three.

這類燃料經濟效益很好，但和其他三種相比，可能會給環境造成難以預測的危害。

在這種語境下，顯然我們在談論一個大的集合“燃料”，然後被分成若干小的集合，也就是這四種燃料，此時非常符合語境。而sort和kind都沒有這層含義。

Type

Sort
