一、any other的用法，是指在同一範圍內除了某人或某物以外的其他人或事物，any other後跟單數名詞，也可以說any of the other+複數名詞。如：
1.Tom runs faster than any other student(或any of the other students)in his class.
湯姆比他班上的任何人都跑得快。
2.Shanghai is langer than any other city in China.
上海比中國的任何一個城市都大。
二、the other指兩個人或物中的一個時，只能用the other，不能用another，此時的other作代詞。如：
He has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is a worker.
他有兩個女兒，一個是護士，另一個是工人。
the other後可加單數名詞，也可加複數名詞，此時的other作形容詞。如：
On the other side of the street，there is a tall tree.
在街道的另一邊，有一棵大樹。
Mary is much taller than the other girls.
瑪麗比其他的女孩高得多。
He lives on the other side of the river.
他住在河的對岸。
