New York City is a very big city in the East of the United

States.It is at the mouth of the Hudson River.A large part of

the city is no Manhattan Island,a big island in the river.

New York City was founded in 1653.It is an old city,

but its streets are wide.Many of its buildings are very tall.The

Empire State Building is one of the tallest buildings in the world.

Central Park is a big park with lakes and a zoo.It is in the

middle of Manhattan near some famous art galleries and museums.

South of Central Park is the downtown area with its famous

avenues:Broadway,Fifth Avenue,etc.This area has many shops

and theaters.
