He graduated in industrial engineering from auburn university in 1982. He received a master"s degree in business administration from duke university in 1988. He spent 12 years at IBM, where he was responsible for manufacturing and distribution operations for the PC division in North America and Latin America. In early 1998, cook joined apple as vice President in charge of the company"s computer-manufacturing business. He took over as CEO from Steve jobs in 2011.
