比如我們習慣說solve the problem,老外也許會說address the problem.
1)here/out
替換成in town/ out of town
例:How long are you in in town for?
2)currently
替換成at this point
例:At this point, we are the best ranked football team in the country.
3)at that time/ then
替換為at that point
例:At that point I didn"t realize she was crying
4)at some time
替換為at some point
例:Let"s talk about it at some point
5)seldom
6)So far
替換為thus far/ up to date
7)in the future
替換為down the road
例:There will be a lot of challenges down the road
8)from now on
替換為going/moving forward
很少見到老外用from now on,通常說 Going forward, we"ll pay more attention to it
9)related to
替換為pertaining to
10)doing
替換為in the middle of doing
例:I"m in the middle of a meeting= I"m having a meeting when my boss called
11)while(而)
替換為whereas
例:You eat a huge plate of food for lunch, whereas I have just a sandwich.
12)make sense
替換為add up
make sense已經非常普遍了,用add up換換口味
13)make progress
