在前不久的5.12大地震中，許多人民子弟兵投入到久救援的工作中，他們忘記自我專心的救人，一心只有救人，絲毫不顧自己的安危，全身心的投入到救援的工作中。其中我最敬佩的人那就是——譚千秋老師，他對學生的愛，遠遠的超過了他對自己的愛，對家人的愛！譚千秋老師只是一名普普通通的老師，可是他卻塑造了他的偉大的形象。在地震來的那一剎那間，譚老師迅速組織學生有秩序的逃離，正在譚老師要逃離的時候，他發現有四個孩子在慌張之下沒有逃離出去，於是譚老師就讓這四個孩子躲在講桌下，譚老師本來可以逃離開，可是譚老師不放心這四位學生，於是他死死的護住講桌，以免他們受到傷害，那四個孩子是倖存了下來，可是譚千秋卻永久的離開了我們，譚千秋老師對學生的愛深深的超過了他對自己的愛，對家庭的愛，他的心裡只想著孩子們的安全，譚千秋老師是偉大的，是值得我們尊敬的。
譚老師的妻子張關榮更是悲痛的要命，她用紙巾擦拭著譚千秋老師的遺體，“昨天還軟軟的，今天怎麼就變得這麼硬了？”張關榮忍著悲傷的眼淚痛心地說。張關榮小心翼翼地梳著譚千秋老師生前最愛的頭型，可是這一切彷彿過了好幾年。在地震發生的前一天晚上，譚千秋老師正在和他的妻子開開心心的談著話，可是就經過了短短的幾分鐘內，他們這對開心的家庭就被分隔陰陽兩間，從此在也見不到面了，想到這裡張關榮不禁放聲大哭。
還有一位人民子弟兵，在發生地震的當晚就被派到一個重災區，他在一幢搖搖欲墜地居民樓前做救援工作，樓裡有許多的小孩子，他正在奮不顧身的搶救中，忽然有人上前強行將他拉開，拉到了一處十分安全的地方，可是這位人民子弟兵在途中多次請求再救一個就一個！可是沒有人理會，他絕望地說：“我求求你們了，就讓我再救一個，就一個我還能再救一個！”可是儘管他怎樣請求，都無濟於事。在他剛到安全區的時候，一陣餘震來了，搖搖欲墜的房屋立刻轟然倒塌，這位戰士哭了，他跪在居民樓前，每個人都為之動容。這就是陌生人對陌生人的愛，社會對陌生人的愛，這種愛值得讓我們尊敬，這種愛就是偉大的愛，這種愛讓我們肅然起敬！
