One evening, Daisy said, “I’m going to buy a packet of sweets. Does anyone want anything?”
一天晚上，Daisy 說，“我打算去買包糖果，有沒有人想要帶東西？”
Benny, daisy’s brother, replied, “Can you get me a packet of electricity?”
Benny，Daisy 的哥哥回答到：“你能不能給我帶包電？”
“Yes, I can,” said Daisy. Then she went out.
“好的，可以。”Daisy 說。然後她就走了出去。
Benny laughed, “She can’t buy electricity in packets like sweets! She’ll look foolish.”
Benny 笑了，“她不可能像買糖果一樣買電！她看上去好蠢。”
Mum said, “You mustn’t say that, Benny!”
媽媽說：“不要這麼說，Benny！”
“What do you know about electricity, Benny?” Dad asked.
“關於電你知道多少，Benny？”爸爸問。
“Electricity gives us power. It flows through wires. It’s like water, in a way,” said Benny.
“電給了我們能量。它透過電線流動。在某種程度上就像水。 ”Benny 說。
“You’re right! Electricity comes into our flat through thin wires. These are connected to cables under the street,” Dad added.
“沒錯！電透過細細的電線進入我們的平板電腦。它們連線著街道下面的電纜。”爸爸補充道。
“What are the cables connected to?” asked Benny.
“那電纜連線著什麼？”Benny 問到。
“They’re connected to a power station,” answered Dad.
“電纜連線到電站。”爸爸回答說。
A moment later, Daisy came back.
過了一會兒，Daisy 回來了。
“May I have my packet of electricity?” Benny asked.
“有我要的一包電嗎？”Benny 問。
“Here you are!” said Daisy.
“給你！”Daisy 說。
“But…these are batteries!” said Benny.
“但是……這些是電池啊！”Benny 說。
“Daisy’s right,” said Dad. “The chemicals inside batteries produce electricity.”
“Daisy 沒有錯，”爸爸說：“電池裡面的化學物質能產生電能。”
Mum said, “Who looks foolish now, Benny?”
媽媽說：“現在誰看起來蠢啊，Benny？”
