一、子音字母+y結尾的名詞，將y改變為i,再加-es.

　　讀音變化：加讀[z].

　　例：

　　　　daisy→daisies;

　　　　fairy→fairies;

　　　　lady→ladies;

　　　　story→stories

　　　　factory→factories

二、母音字母+y結尾的名詞，後面直接加s

如：boy→boys

1、baby

2、city 

I live in the west of the city.

我住在該城市的西部。

3、country 

China is a developing country.

中國是一個發展中國家。

4、difficulty 

He experienced great difficulty in getting a visa to leave the country.

5、lady 

The lady assured to him her daughter.

夫人把女兒許配給他。
