another和the other 的區別：

　　這兩個詞都表示“另一個”的意思，但涵義和使用場合不同。

Another是指不定數目中的“另一個”;

例：Have another piece of cake.再吃一塊餅吧。

　　Please fatch another cup for me.請替我另拿一個杯子來。

　　That's quite another matter.那完全是另一回事。

the other是指兩個人或兩樣事物中的“另一個”。

例：Both my uncles are abroad，one in Paris and the other in New York.我的兩個叔叔都在國外，一個在巴黎，另一個在紐約。

　　One of them is yours;the other is mine.一個是你的，另一個是我的。
