2. do research on /into /in... 從事, 進行, 做研究

They are carrying out a research into the causes of cancer.

research可作可數名詞和不可數名詞, 有自己的單複數形式。短語do research中research 為不可數名詞。

3. call up 打電話，使......回憶起

I’ll call you up tonight (call sb. /ring sb. up )

The old photo calls up memories of my

childhood. (recall sth.)

call for 需要, 要求

look back 回電話，召喚某人回來

call in 邀請, 請來

call on/at 拜訪 (call on後跟人作賓語，call at後跟地點名詞作賓語 )
