後邊應該接to do.這是一個片語，be about to do sth.意思是即將開始、就要開始幹什麼。與將來時態差不多，但是這個片語表達的意思強調時間間隔很短，有立馬、轉眼就要開始的含義。比如：Please be seated，the meeting is about to begin.請就坐，會議馬上就要開始。

be about to”後面接“ do”相當於“be going to do”。 

“be about to”有三種含義：

1、表示即將做某事。

如：It might be about to do the same with the introduction of a tablet computer,if internet 

rumoursare to be believed. 

如果網上流言可信，蘋果可能正在開發一款平板電腦。

2、其否定式在美國英語中可表示“不打算（不願意）”。

如：I’m not about to stop when I’m so close to success. 在這樣接近成功時我不打算就此罷手。

3、習慣上不與具體時間狀語連用。

由於本身已含有“即將”這樣的時間概念，所以它習慣上不再與 soon, at once, immediately, tomorrow 這樣的具體時間狀語連用。

英語be about to後應該用動詞原形，也就是do，而不能用doing。要正確判斷應該用doing還是do，就應該分析to是用作介詞還是動詞不定時的to。例如短語pay attention to的to是介詞，所以之後加doing。而be about to的to是動詞不定時符號 所以之後加do。

about" 後面有兩種接動詞的方法.一種是"about+doing sth."另一種是"be about to do sth."表示的是"即將打算做某事".
