become是動詞，後面一般不能跟動詞原形，只能跟名詞化的（動名詞，也就是動詞+ing），或者動詞+ed或者動詞分詞作形容詞用。

become的意思

vi.變為，成為；變得；變成；

vt. 適合，適宜；相稱，相當；變成；發生

become的用法

1.用作連繫動詞，其後可接名詞、形容詞、過去分詞等作表語：

He became a teacher at(the age of)17.他17歲就當了老師。

The weather became warmer.天氣變得暖和起來。

Soon the roombecame crowded.不一會兒房裡就擠滿了人。

注意：其後接過去分詞時，可表示被動或結果；但表示被動時，其後一般不接by短語。比如不說：

Soon the room became crowded bystudents.

2.become是終止性動詞，因此要表示“成為…有多長時間”，英語不能將become與表示一段時間的詞或短語連用：

他成為老師有十年了。

正：He became a teacher ten years ago.

正：It’s ten years since he became a teacher.

正：He has been a teacher for ten years.

誤：He has become a teacher for ten years.

3.become 之後一般不接不定式表示“逐漸…”(此時可用come/begin＋不定式)：

正：He began[came]to like English. 他開始喜歡英語起來。

誤：He became to like English.

正：He became ill yesterday.他昨天病了。

誤：He became to be ill yesterday.

4.用於習語become of,表示“發生”、“遭遇”等(常與what連用)：

What has become of the girl?這個女孩後來怎樣了?

I don’t know what will become of me if I fail this time.要是我這次不成功，我不知我會怎麼樣。

become用作連繫動詞，意為“成為”，其後可接：

1.名詞

They became great friends.他們成了莫逆之交。

He aims to become a computer expert.他打算當一名電腦專家。

She has become a painter of distinction.她成了一名傑出的畫家。

2.形容詞

She became very fond of her.她變得非常喜歡她了。

He soon became angry. 他過了一會兒就生氣了。

She has become familiar with the house.她對這房子已變得很熟悉。

I’ve become used to a vegetarian diet.我已習慣於素食。

become的過去式是became，過去分詞還是原型become，現在分詞是把不發音的e去掉，再加ing，即becoming。它的這些變化和come是一樣的，come的過去式是came，過去分詞也，也是原型come，現在分詞是coming，類似的詞還有run，過去式ran，過去分詞run。
