fine是描繪形容詞,基本意思是指經過加工、提煉而變得非常“精美”,引申可表示“美好的,優秀的,優良的,傑出的”“纖細的”“細微的”“晴朗的,無雨的”“健康的; 舒適的”“過分夸飾的,炫耀的”“可怕的,糟透的”等。

fun是不可數名詞,沒有複數形式,也不可加不定冠詞,其後可接(in) v -ing。可用於另一名詞前作定語。

Fun前面為什麼不加冠詞呢？有兩個原因，一是fun是一個不可數名詞，意思是有趣的事，例如We had great fun last sunday，上星期天我們玩的很開心，另一個原因是固定用法，例如They had great fun swimming in the pool during the summer holiday，在暑假期間，他們在水池中游得很開心

fun表示“有趣的事”“娛樂”“玩笑”等，永遠不可數，既不能連用不定冠詞，也不能用複數形式。

如：He is full of fun. 他愛開玩笑。

We have a great deal of fun on the beach. 我們在海灘上玩得開心。

This holiday isn’t much fun; we might as well be back home. 這個假日過得真沒意思，我們還不如呆在家裡。

Aside from being fun and good exercise, swimming is a very useful skill. 除了是樂趣和有益的鍛鍊以外，游泳還是一種很有用的技能。

注意以下正誤句型：

同她在一起很有意思。

誤：She is a great fun to be with.

正：She is great fun to be with.

幹嗎不同我們一起去呢？很有趣的。

誤：Why don’t you come with us? It’ll be a great fun.

正：Why don’t you come with us? It’ll be great fun.
