recover的短語：

　　recover from(v.+prep.)

　　1.從…收回〔取回〕 get back sth from sb/sth

　　Don't lend books to your friends; it's difficult to recover the books from them when you want them.

不要把書借給你的朋友們,在你需要時,很難從他們那兒把書要回來。

　　He recovered his football from the neighbour's lawn.

他從鄰居的草坪上拿回了足球。

　　2.恢復,痊癒 become well; get over

remain 常可與stay 互換,但它強調“繼續停留於一處或保持原狀態、情況性質而不改變”,如:

This place remains cool all summer.

這個地方整個夏天都涼爽.

stay強調“某人[物]繼續留在原地而不離開”,如:

He stayed to s1.Keep 相當於 be 動詞 ，後跟adj，表示維持一種狀態，比如：keep calm

keep 還可以跟n. 表示保留收藏什麼東西，比如：keep this book

而 stay 後跟 副詞，介詞短語情況比較多。比如stay here，stay overnight

2.stay、remain和keep辨析

1．表示“繼續呆在某處”時，應該用不及物動詞remain或stay，

例如： Shall I go or stay? Stay indoors for a few days until you recover from your cold. He remained in his seat after all the other students had gone home.

2．表示“暫住、短期停留”時，只能用不及物動詞stay。

例如： He is staying at Hilton Hotel. My mother-in-law stayed with us this week when she visited us.

3．表示“殘留、剩下”時，只能用不及物動詞remain，

例如： Not much of the house remained after the fire. Of the seven brothers, only four now remain; the rest are dead.

4．表示“繼續保持或處於某種狀態”時，應視具體情況在上述動詞中進行選擇：

(1)表示“繼續保持或處於原來的狀態”時，可用remain或stay，

例如： Three of them remained single.Shops should remain open till later in the evening. The door stayed closed.But the police themselves prefer to stay unarmed.

(2)表示“需要設法才能保持或處於某種狀態”時，應用keep，

例如： She knew she must keep calm. I wish those children would keep quiet. Although they have many difficulties, they keep happy. Paul managed to keep awake by drinking lots of strong black coffee.

(3)表示“使某人或某物保持某種狀態”時，只能用及物動詞keep，

例如： She had kept him waiting twenty minutes on this occasion. Why do you always keep your windows closed?
