一、英語倒裝句是個特殊的句型，在含有否定副詞的句子當中，如never, seldom, rarely, little, hardly, scarcely, no sooner, no longer, nowhere ,in no circumstances,in no way,not only,等這些含有否定意義的副詞位於句首時，則其後要用部分倒裝，例如：
Never before has our country been so prosperous and powerful as it is today.
我們的國家從來沒有今天這麼繁榮昌盛。
Not noly does he have to type out the answer on a computer,but he also gets the computer to translate it into sounds.
他不僅把答案打在電腦上，而且還要電腦把答案變成聲音。
Never in all my life have I seen such a horrible thing.
我一輩子也沒見過這麼恐怖的事。
Scarcely had the game started when it began to rain.
比賽才開始就下起雨來了。
Scarcely had they left before soldiers arrived armed with rifles.
他們剛離開，扛著步槍計程車兵們就到了。
Nowhere is the effect of government policy more apparent than in agriculture.

We had no sooner reached the airport than the plane took off.
No sooner had we reached the airport than the plane took off. 我們剛到機場,飛機就起飛了。
二、特殊否定結構結構倒裝
(1) 對於not…until句型，當not until…位於句首時，其後的主句要用倒裝語序：
The students didn’t stop talking until the teacher came in.
Not until the teacher came in did the students stop talking.
直到老師走進來，學生們才停止交談。He didn’t leave the room until the rain stopped.
Not until the rain stopped did he leave the room.
雨停了之後他才離開這房間。
(2) 某些起副詞作用的介詞短語，由於含有否定詞，若位於句首，其後要用部分倒裝：
On no account should the house be left unlocked.
離開住宅時千萬要鎖門。
On no account must this switch be touched. 這個開關是絕不能觸控的。
On no account should one try to smoke during an interview!
在面試時無論如何不要抽菸！
On no account should the mixture boil.
切勿讓這種混合物沸騰。
