In Japan, they have a kind of hot pot called shabu-shabu. Shabu-shabu is Japanese for “swish, swish.” This is what they call the sound the thin meat makes when it is cooked by swishing it in the pot. This dish is especially good with top-quality Wagyu beef!

In Thailand, people eat jim jum, which is a Thai style of eating hot pot. Jim means to dip in while jum means to drop something briefly into liquid. The meat is cooked in a very small clay pot. This kind of hot pot really shows off Thailand’s delicious cooking!

在泰國,大家則享用Jim Jum泰式地道火鍋。Jim指的是蘸,Jum指的是將東西放進液體並在短時間內拿出。肉品則會在一個很小的陶鍋裡烹煮。這種火鍋完全可以凸顯出泰國料理的美味!

Cooking hot pot is easy, and you can put many different things into it. You can use high-quality beef that melts in your mouth as they do in Japan. Or add cheese and sausage to the pot as they do in Korea’s budae jjigae. Make hot pot in a metal pot in China. Or use a clay one as they do in Thailand!
