兩個都可以加，因為rather than既可以作為連詞理解，也可以當成介詞理解
（1）當rather than作為連詞理解時，根據英語“平行結構”的要求，此時rather than前後的單詞要保持詞性和結構的一致，

（2）當rather than作為介詞理解時，此時它相當於instead of，後面的動詞要用現在分詞形式，

①rather than do表示客觀事實,意為“是……而不是……；與其……不如……”.
如：I would go to the park rather than go to the museum.我不想去博物館,我寧願去公園.
②rather than doing.
如：She enjoys singing rather than dancing.她喜歡唱歌,而不喜歡跳舞.
如果前面是動名詞,後面也是動名詞. 也有將than視為介詞的.這時,不管前面是什麼形式,後面都是名詞或動名詞.
Rather than staying at home,she went out.她不是呆在家裡,而是出門了
