excel in：在…方面勝過; 高強;excel at：（在某一活動方面）表現傑出，擅長於（某項活動）excel at主要側重於某一活動的擅長

Excel [ik'sel]有“擅長、善於”的意思, 一般跟介詞 in 搭配。常用的表達是“excel in/at sth，excel at doing sth”，與good at doing sth是同義短語

如:

She excels in dancing.她在舞蹈方面出類拔萃。

She excels in teaching English.她擅長教英語。

一.in,on在方位名詞前的區別

1.in表示A地在B地範圍之內。如：

TaiwanisinthesoutheastofChina.

2.on表示A地與B地接壤、毗鄰。如：

二.at,in,on在表示時間上的區別

1.at指時間表示：

（1）時間的一點、時刻等。如：

Theycamehomeatsunrise（atnoon,atmidnight,atteno’clock,atdaybreak,atdawn）.

（2）較短暫的一段時間。可指某個節日或被認為是一年中標誌大事的日子。如：

HewenthomeatChristmas（atNewYear,attheSpringFestival,atnight）.

2.in指時間表示：

（1）在某個較長的時間（如世紀、朝代、年、月、季節以及泛指的上午、下午或傍晚等）內。如：

in2004,inMarch,inspring,inthemorning,intheevening,etc

（2）在一段時間之後。一般情況下，用於將來時，謂語動詞為瞬間動詞，意為“在……以後”。如：

Hewillarriveintwohours.

謂語動詞為延續性動詞時，in意為“在……以內”。如：

Theseproductswillbeproducedinamonth.

注意：after用於將來時間也指一段時間之後，但其後的時間是“一點”，而不是“一段”。如：

Hewillarriveaftertwoo’clock.

3.on指時間表示：

（1）具體的時日和一個特定的時間，如某日、某節日、星期幾等。如：

OnChristmasDay（OnMay4th）,therewillbeacelebration.

（2）在某個特定的早晨、下午或晚上。如：

Hearrivedat10o’clockonthenightofthe5th.

（3）準時，按時。如：

Ifthetrainshouldbeontime,Ishouldreachhomebeforedark.

三.at,in和on表示地點時的區別

1.at表示地點：

（1）用於指較小的地方。如：

Ishallwaitforyouatthestation.

（2）用於門牌號碼前。如：

Helivesat115ZhongshanRoad.

2.in表示地點：

（1）用於指較大的地方。如：

HelivesinShanghai.

（2）雖然是很小的地方，如果說話人住在那裡，也可用in。商店、學校、機關等，若看作一個地點（point）用at，若看作一個場所（place）用in。如：

Imethimatthepost-office.

I’mnowworkinginthepost-office.

3.on表示地點，一般指與面或線接觸，意為“在……上；在……旁”。如：

Thepicturewashangingonthewall.
