1.a lot of意為"許多、大量",相當於lots of.它既可以脩飾可數名詞，又　　可以脩飾不可數名詞。如：　　I have a lot of friends in China.　　　我在中國有很多朋友。　　The old man has lots of money. 　　　那位老人有很多的錢。　　

2.many意為"許多".它用來脩飾可數名詞。如：　　Do you have many beautiful skirts?　　　你有很多漂亮的裙子嗎？　　

3.much意為"大量".它用來脩飾不可數名詞。如：　　There is much water in the lake.　　　湖裡有大量的水。　　

4.a lot of（=lots of）用在肯定句中，而many，much不受限制。如果將一個含有a lot of（=lots of）的肯定句改為否定句或疑問句，要將它們改為many或much。如：　　We can see a lot of birds in the tree.　　---We can't see many birds in the tree. 我們在樹上看不到很多鳥兒。　　He wants lots of soda.　　---Does he want much soda? 　　　 他需要許多汽水嗎？

1、many

lot的基本意思是“許多，大量”，在肯定句中常用於a lot of或lots of結構，可脩飾可數名詞,也可脩飾不可數名詞。

其含意與many或much相同。當它們在句中與其他詞一起作主語時，謂語動詞應與其所脩飾的名詞或代詞在數上保持一致。

1.many和much一組，前者加可數名詞後者脩飾不可數名詞；如many fruits，so much money。另much可脩飾比較級如much better。

2.lots of和a lot of一組，既可脩飾可數名詞也可脩飾不可數名詞；lots of fun，a lot of people等。

3.而a lot跟在動詞後，作副詞用，如：He bothered me a lot，Thanks a lot.
